I hate how Kaito couldn't get any of his targets ever since shinichi showed up and a lot of other hindrances. He's a thief. Why would he give up all his targets every time when it's already in his hands?? Was it because he's subtly admitting defeat because things didn't go smoothly as planned and his tricks was exposed?? Or was he somehow mocking them that even though his tricks was exposed, he still got the jewels and he's just giving it back since he didn't got it the way he wanted to, as if saying he's no longer interested in it just because of his whim and that he's just going easy on them??

Well honestly, I'd like to think the latter.

I love shinichi but I also kind of dislike him for being overrated and undefeated.

Have you not watched Magic Kaito 1412? If you haven't, I 100% recommend. Its an amazing show. But yeah-- He literally never keeps a gem, even before shinichi started fighting him-- even before he figured out about Pandora he still sent the gems back one way or another. Kaito is fighting his own evil organization in his hunt for Pandora, a magical gem thats said to grant immortality. They want it and killed his dad for it, so he wants to protect anyone else that might come in harms way during their search. He's also trying to draw them out through his publicized heists. In no way is he just mocking the police or anything-- he's just not really a criminal as much as he is a vigilante. No reason for him to keep the jewels that aren't Pandora. . And also, I mean, sure its seems on the surfacethat Conan is winning by figuring out Kaito's tricks-- but he's literally always managed to steal the gem temporarily enough to check it for Pandora and then escapes afterwards-- honestly Kaito is the one person who very, very consistently beats Shinichi, all things considered.

the problem with the idea of Kid doing it in this episode is, the reason why he pulls every heist on the night of a full Moon. Pandora is only revealed under that kind of light. if you look at the skylight at 13:28, that's clearly a waning crescent Moon not a full one. so unless that's wrong and it is just average every night 'hey look up there!' and Kid just checks the jewel, this one wasn't for Pandora.

simply put, shrug, Aoyama wrote Kid many years before Conan started and Kid is just a bit too over the top and silly. not unlike Conan. :> if it was a better written story Kid would just sneak into places, check out the jewels, and leave with nobody knowing he was ever there.

i personally think Aoyama keeps putting Kid's manga on hiatus is because it just doesn't sell well anymore. the last hiatus was what... 7 years long? and Aoyama just wrote up enough new Kid stuff to cover anything that 1412/Conan needed that was new.

You made me feel better. Anyway, I'll watch it some other time. I'm currently re-watching One Piece.

1412 was not done by the same studio as Conan. there were a few recasts of VAs. since the Kid characters that showed up in Conan were so unnoticeable, you can easily ignore any changes. plus it is a hell of a lot shorter show than Conan or OnePiece.

Not hard show to watch funny enough it came out in 2014 but this episode came out first

He is looking for a specific big jewel that will have a thing inside it when exposed to the moon light

It has something to do what he is stealing. He doesn´t steal for money. He is searching for the pandora. So he returns gems if they aren´t the pandora

He usually does it to get attention by the press

Nah despite Conan ( shinichi )beating kaito kaito still gets away anyway .I mean there are times when he lets kaito get away but in way he always knows it’s kid under there

How many times has now kaito kid used his hangglider to escape and still no defence expect a few guards on the roof also must be super adapted to use the air flows to fly like that so easily i know he uses a motor now and then still thou
